We have been out of contact for 24 hours which was really bad cos during thast time my phone also died. Feels a bit like someone has cut off my leg - n0 internet and no phone. Guess I had better get used to it northern WA may be like that for days. Left Port Kenny this morning and travelled along possibly the most boring bit of road in Australia to Ceduna. One straight was just on 30 km long and just as we got round the corner we came across a bloke standing in the middle of the road directing traffic at an accoident. Forgot the SA cops wear brown. Though he was a scout. Ceduna was interesting as today is public service pay day, which means Centerlink day for the locals. By lunch time the police were busy at the Ceduna pub with a paddy waggon. Wasn't game to take a photo thought I might end up getting locked up with the locals.

Murohys haystackes were probably the highlight of the day - large wind blown rocks in the middle of a paddock. Very impressive. Arrived at Panong quite early and after settling into the caravan park visited to local pub for a drink. Before long it was full of Ulyssess members including some we knew from the far south coast.

They tell me that the real Nullabor starts from here. The sign outside the general store suggests this might be true.

  1. Love that sign... one thousand kilometres without a shop! I hope there are a few corners to make it interesting. What's the temperature like on the road?
